Action Attack Questions The Combat mod thing
🕑 Added 2021-08-15 11:30:49 +0000 UTCSo I've been thinking a lot lately about this big combat mod I've been working on, the mod that adds new attacks and uses new buttons
I majorly underestimated how many people play Skyrim with a controller, at the very least I need maybe 2 or 3 extra buttons and most people I spoke to have their controller mappings maxed out, not sure what to do tbh
I don't want to change how power attacks work as I feel holding the power attack button isn't very intuitive for a sequence of attacks plus it would remove the charge attacks and break other mods as I'm trying to go for as much compatibility with SkySA and ABR as possible(More on that below)
With my non existent C++ skills or with behaviours alone I can't change the really shitty existing inputs, such as perspective change and holster/unholster key
I can maybe merge a dodge and sprint into one key thanks to what Felisky has made for me, but everyone would need to remap their sprint button and you wouldn't be able to use toggle sprint, though I don't think many people use that?
Standing still and pressing the sneak/sprint key can be used for something different though for my needs there's not much I can think of
About the SkySa and ABR compatibility, obvs all 3 mods do similar things, I'm aiming for a modular approach meaning you'll hopefully be able to turn parts off, so you could turn off the light attacks of this mod and only keep the heavy and charge attacks that way you could use SkySa or ABR for your main attacks and then have my heavy attacks, or you could toggle my mod off via MCM and then use the other mods for a bit, though I'm not sure on the current(been donkey's years since I tested) and future state of these mods and how the compatibility I've currently built for them will be changed with updates to both SkySa and ABR
Also some of the animations of this mod will have SkySa support, meaning you could just use some of my animations in SkySa if you wanted t.o Charge attacks wouldn't work in SkySa due to them being attacks SkySa can't work with
So it begs the question, how do you guys and gals feel about my Action Attack mod, is it worth carrying it on or not? Any suggestions at all with it

I'm not good at English The fighting style seen in the weak attack and the strong attack witcher looks quite attractive. I think it's better to make it the way You originally intended to make it.
